This card allows you to use your current account anywhere in the world, make secure payments at more than 5.2m commercial outlets displaying the Maestro symbol, use the Maestro cash machine network at any time of day or night and Caixautomática and Multibanco bank services networks in Portugal.

Where to use your card

Portugal:
Most operations are accepted on the REDUNICRE, Multibanco and Caixautomática networks.

Abroad:
Cash advances are available from machines displaying the Cirrus/Maestro or Eufiserv symbols. Users can also pay for purchases/services in commercial establishments displaying the Maestro symbol.

Maestro RE cardholders are entitled to:

-  insurance on misuse of card. This insurance is totally free, which means that any amounts unlawfully charged to the card after misplacement, theft or robbery, will be repaid, subject to a maximum amount of €2,500 per claim and €12,500 per annum.

-  exemption on withdrawal and payment fees in country of residence, outside the Eurozone (no fees are chargeable in the Eurozone).

You can apply for the Maestro RE card via Caixadirecta on-line or at any Caixa branch. The card together with the PIN (personal identification number), will be sent to your address. It can then be activated at Caixa branches or Representative Offices.

There is an annual card fee of 10 euros. There are no charges for the first year.
